Computers have been around since I was born, and I was introduced to them at a very early age. At that they time were only useful for playin games. Through elementary school we were taught how to type on Apple® Macintosh® Classics.
Through Middle School and High school I got obsessed with gaming, specificially Blizzard's Diablo II. This obsession created a desire to have my own computer, so I saved some money so I could build my own. At this point I also figured out that items in the virtual world can be sold for money, so I financed my new computer by selling items from Diablo II. In order to increase my sales I learned how to write HTML and CSS in order to create a website to sell my items on. This was my introdution to "programming" when I was 14.
After giving up on the Diablo thing, I found a great interest in computer graphics. My adventures in Diablo land had created several relationships with like minded people who were also interested in Adobe Photoshop® and art in general, so we started our own forum for creating and discussing art, photoshop and life in general. I quickly took the reigns as the administrator and started learning how to customize the forum software, which eventually lead to me learning PHP.
My forum started gaining traffic from the content we publised rather infrequently, and my ventures into ad published started paying off quite frequently. This was very a huge motivator to get the site more popular and to continue working on it, so I have spent countless hours working on Visual Design Core. At the time the advertising money was good, and the whole social networking website phenomenon was just taking off.
After graduating from Capital High School and while attending community college for a year, I increased my ad revenues, created more content and started a few other projects with a friend. We quickly launched a MySpace resource site in early 2006 and sold it 4 months later for 20x its monthly revenue. My first huge payday from websites.
I am now attending Western Washington University where I will graduate with a Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science. I hope to obtain a Masters degree from the University of Washington in the near future an,d have interests in the area of Artificial Intelligence (aka the Singularity), Biocomputing, as well as things related to the Internet.
